Are you planning a trip to Delhi? If so, this is for you. I’m going to tell you about the top 4 places in Delhi, along with the visiting hours and entry fees. So let’s get started quickly.
Qutub Minar– कुतुब मीनार
The first place you can visit in Delhi is the Qutub Minar. It’s a 73-meter-tall minaret, built in 1193. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many attractions to explore, such as the iron pillar, which dates back to the fourth century, but its construction is so rust-resistant. You can also see the Alai Darwaza, the Tomb of Iltutmish, and more. The complete list is on the screen. You can take a screenshot. The Qutub Minar is made of red stone and marble. Entry to the Qutub Minar complex is ₹40 per person and parking is ₹60 per car. Entry to the Qutub Minar opens after sunrise, and the last entry is before 8:00 pm. I recommend coming early in the morning if you want to explore with less crowds. It gets quite crowded in the evenings. The nearest metro station is also named after the same name: Qutub Minar Metro Station.
Lotus Temple-लोटस टेंपल
The next place you can visit in Delhi is the Lotus Temple. The temple’s architecture is beautiful. It was completed in 1986 and is shaped like a lotus flower. Essentially, this temple is a place for meditation. Inside, there’s a large hall that can accommodate 25,000 people at a time. The temple is absolutely pin-drop silent. Surrounding it are spacious gardens and numerous beautiful pools. The Lotus Temple is made of pure white marble. The Lotus Temple opens around 8:00 am, with the last entry available until 6:00 pm. It remains closed on Mondays. There are no entry charges. However, if you need to park your car, you’ll have to pay ₹1 for two hours. If visiting during the summer, go early in the morning or late in the evening. The lighting here is also quite beautiful in the evening. The nearest metro station is Kalkaji Mandir Metro Station.
National Zoological Park-नेशनल ज़ूलॉजिकल पार्क
The National Zoological Park, also known as the Delhi Zoo, spans 176 acres. It is one of India’s most well-maintained zoological parks. You’ll find numerous animal species here. You can see the complete list on the screen right now. It will take approximately 3 to 5 hours to explore the entire park. We saw ostriches up close, then crocodiles, and a white tiger up ahead. We also saw many other animals. You’ll find it crowded on weekends, and children will enjoy it the most. The park is closed on Fridays. The entry times are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Entry charges are ₹80 per unit. Tickets must be purchased online, with all the steps listed. Parking charges are ₹60 per car. A cloakroom and food court are also available. Battery car service is also available at this park. The nearest metro station to reach this park is Pragati Maidan or Supreme Court Metro.
Red Fort-लाल किला
After this, the next place you can visit is the Red Fort. This fort was initially built by Shah Jahan and was completed in 1648. It was then occupied by the British in 1857. Later, this fort played a significant role in India’s independence movement. On August 15, 1947, the first speech of independent India was delivered from here. The entire fort is surrounded by a wall of approximately 2.5 kilometers. This fort is quite large. Inside, you can explore a lot. As soon as you enter, you’ll first see the Lahori Gate, where a market is located. Then, there’s another gate, the Delhi Gate. Then, you’ll see the Diwan-i-Arm. After the Diwan-i-Amar, you’ll see the Diwan-i-Khas. There are several other sections built here as well. Parking charges at Red Fort are ₹40 per vehicle and entry charges are ₹35 per adult. If you book online, otherwise ₹50 per adult. Not only at Red Fort, online booking option is available at most of the places mentioned here and you can do this online booking by reaching there and scanning the QR code given there. Light and sound show is organised at Red Fort in the evening and you can enter Red Fort after sunrise and 9:00 pm is the closing time.
